School Goals
How are we going to support the District (District Goal)?
90% of the students at each grade-level will be proficient on their established grade-level Math facts, using both written and oral measures to determine mastery. We will use the Math Fact Fluency Checks and other oral measures to determine if this goal is achieved by the end of the 2011-12 school year.
Rationale: Without mastery of basic Math facts, students will not be adequately prepared for their next level of Math education or the challenges they will face with more complex Math concepts, which all require mastery of the basic facts.
How are we going to support the School (School Goal)?
95% of the students at each grade-level will show academic growth in the area of Reading. We will be using the follow to determine academic growth: fall to spring NWEA scores (we do not want to see any negative growth), growth in ‘Words per Minute’ or ‘%iles’ on fluency checks, SF common assessments averages, growth in our Reading index score from this year’s NECAP assessment to the 2012-13 NECAP (possibly the last year of NECAP).
Rationale: Proficiency in Reading is critical for future success, as a student and as an adult. By focusing on the Reading growth of all our students, we are in turn working to prepare them for the rest of their education and for life.
